Summary

The Director, International PMO Lead will be a key member of the International Commercial team, helping to shape the future of Madrigal. This is a unique opportunity to plan and execute the launch of a first-to-market therapy for MASH with blockbuster potential — working alongside a high-performing team united by a mission to improve patients’ lives.

This role will lead the planning and execution of strategic commercial initiatives across Madrigal’s international operations, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment and operational excellence. The Director will act as a strategic partner to the commercial leadership team, translating vision into actionable project plans that deliver measurable impact and advance our mission to transform liver and metabolic disease care.

Acting as an enterprise leader, the incumbent will demonstrate patient focus in every decision, act with an owner mindset, champion innovation, and foster collaboration to drive impact and advance Madrigal’s purpose of leading the fight against MASH.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Leadership

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of international commercial projects and programs, ensuring execution on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Develop and manage the International business calendar, aligning timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across global and regional teams.
  • Lead launch planning and sequencing for the international region, ensuring clear prioritization and readiness.
  • Drive the business review process, including performance tracking, risk management, action planning, and implementation follow-up to ensure accountability and progress.
  • Promote continuous improvement in processes related to marketing planning, budgeting, and creative development.
  • Maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and dashboards to monitor progress and inform leadership decisions.
  • Align PMO activities with Madrigal’s strategic global and International business goals to support long-term success.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance, HR, Legal, and other functions to ensure alignment and smooth execution of key initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic connector between international country teams and global counterparts, ensuring cohesive execution across markets.
  • Act as a senior escalation point to resolve challenges, ensure clear communication, and maintain focus on priorities.
  • Present project updates, risks, and key deliverables to executive leadership and governance bodies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical commercial, strategic, or operational roles.
  • Proven success in launch planning and execution for at least one specialty product in the past five years.
  • Strong project management expertise, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working in lean or emerging organizations with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead across functions and geographies.
  • Fluency in English required; additional languages a plus.
  • Willingness to frequently travel internationally.
