The Next Great Challenge Is Coming

We are looking for an experienced Hard Surface 3D Environment Project Lead to join our outsourcing production team. The ideal candidate has strong artistic and technical expertise in hard surface and environment creation, a deep understanding of production pipelines, and the ability to manage, mentor, and support a team of artists. PL will collaborate directly with project managers, art producers, and clients to ensure high-quality delivery and efficient production processes across multiple projects.

Superpowers

you have are

  • 3+ years of experience in Hard Surface Realistic Environment 3D Art within the game industry;
  • 1+ year of experience in a Lead or Sub-Lead position;
  • Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, shading, optimization, and environment assembly workflows;
  • Ability to estimate tasks, define scopes, and create/maintain production guidelines;
  • Experience managing teams of 5-10 artists or leading 1-3 projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and lead team discussions;
  • Experience with project tools (Jira, P4, SVN, etc.);
  • Problem-solving mindset: ability to identify pipeline issues, propose improvements, and escalate risks on time;
  • English at Upper-Intermediate (B2+) level, as the role requires active participation in client calls, daily communication with producers, and written documentation in English. The candidate must be confident in both spoken and written communication to ensure smooth collaboration with international teams;
  • Experience with game engines (Unreal Engine) – confident understanding of engine workflows, asset implementation, scene setup, and performance optimization;
  • Problem-solving mindset: ability to identify pipeline issues, propose improvements, and escalate risks on time.

  • Experience working directly with AAA studios or international clients;
  • Knowledge of real-time engine workflows (Unreal Engine / Custom Engine);
  • Additional leadership or management training.

As a part of Room 8

studio, you will

  • Lead hard surface production across assigned projects;
  • Estimate new tasks and projects, suggest optimal workflow and pipeline strategies;
  • Create and maintain project documentation, guidelines, and technical requirements;
  • Provide regular, objective reviews of artists’ work and mentor team members;
  • Distribute tasks efficiently, create decompositions, and manage day-to-day project workflow;
  • Monitor project quality and ensure delivery within deadlines;
  • Identify potential risks early and communicate them to PMs and producers;
  • Collaborate with other department leads to provide integrated solutions for the client;
  • Maintain a healthy and productive work environment, motivating and supporting the team;
  • Communicate proactively with clients, participate in production calls, and represent the art team professionally.
