Role Overview
The organisation is expanding its security function and is seeking a Security Analyst / Engineer with MSP experience and a solid grounding in security principles across a broad technical stack. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically capable, and comfortable supporting both internal teams and customers on security-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to security alerts, incidents and queries.
- Provide support to internal staff and customers with security-related enquiries.
- Manage Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus renewals on behalf of customers.
- Assist with vulnerability management activities and remediation efforts.
- Support implementation of DMARC-related projects.
- Deliver security product implementations and best-practice security configurations at customer sites.
- Monitor and manage platforms such as Mimecast, email filtering, awareness training tools, antivirus solutions and Microsoft 365 security features.
- Deliver Microsoft 365 Security and Intune deployment projects.
- Work on various ad-hoc customer security projects as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong passion for information and cyber security.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Office 365, Exchange, etc.).
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Centre.
- Understanding of networking and security fundamentals (Network+, Security+ or SSCP advantageous).
- Strong understanding of EDR/MDR technologies and vulnerability management tools.
- Experience supporting Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus audits.
- Experience with antivirus and mail gateway solutions (preferably SentinelOne, Sophos and Mimecast).
- Competence in vulnerability scanning and associated remediation.
- Knowledge of security hardening best practices for both on-premise and cloud environments.
