Big Data/PySpark Engineer - Zurich (Hybrid):
- We are seeking an experienced Big Data/PySpark Engineer to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland.
- This is a challenging hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office with a negotiable rate.
The Ideal Candidate:
- You are a seasoned Data Engineer with 7+ years of dedicated experience designing, developing, and managing complex, high-performance data pipelines for sophisticated business analytics applications.
- You possess a strong startup mindset and a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions using Big Data technologies, particularly PySpark and Python.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
- Data Pipeline Excellence: Design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines for collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing massive volumes of data.
- Core Technical Stack: Mandatory expertise in Python and PySpark. Extensive experience in Spark coding (Scala or PySpark).
- Engineering Quality: A strong believer in "Clean Code" principles, dedicated to thorough unit testing, issue discovery, and diligent bug fixing.
- Scripting & Version Control: Proficient in Linux Bash, PowerShell, and Python scripting, and experienced with version control tools like Git and SVN.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive, analytical problem-solver with a "can-do" attitude, capable of independent research to meet business objectives.
- Collaboration: A strong team player who participates in peer code reviews and pair programming, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Architecture: Ability to design functional and technical architectures.
- Desirable Extras: Knowledge of cloud technologies, especially Azure, Databricks, and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers, Git).
