DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

The developer will perform the following tasks:

• Development of back-end website applications.

• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with server side logic.

• Implementation of core business logic.

• Creation of servers and databases for functionality, and design and implementation of data storage solutions.

• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.

• Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.

• Design and develop APIs.

• Participate in the design and creation of scalable software, and take the lead on projects, as needed.

• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation, and writing clean, functional code on the back-end.

• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.

• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues, and meeting both technical and consumer needs.

• Writing technical documentation.

• The developer could also work on any other project of DG SANTE.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Technical and Functional Skills (Related to the specified expertise areas):

• Knowledge of specific back-end technologies: Vert.x, Kotlin, Java (> 17), Spring Boot (WebFlux), and Hibernate.

• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture, API-driven Development, and AS4.

• Experience with Databases: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Virtuoso Triple Store, and OpenSearch.

• Experience with Containerization & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Security standards: OpenID Connect, OAuth2, TLS, and Keycloak.

• Experience with Security Testing & Dependency Management: SAST, DAST, Fortify, SonarQube, Sonatype, Dependency-Track, and Maven.

• Familiarity with Collaboration & Productivity Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Office 365, and SharePoint.

Non-Technical/Soft Skills (Required for the European Commission environment):
