We are looking for a Senior Python Developer for a remote 5–6 month contract.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Python-based backend applications and services.

Your daily work will include:

• Developing high-quality backend components and APIs
• Writing efficient, clean, and maintainable code
• Debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing applications
• Collaborating with team members on integrations and architecture
• Ensuring high-quality delivery through proper testing and code reviews

• At least 3 years of experience building backend systems with Python
• Strong expertise with Python 3.x, Flask, Jinja2
• Experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS
• Experience with Solr or OpenSearch
• Experience with OpenAPI 3.0 and FastAPI
• Experience with CKAN (data portal framework)
• Experience working with cloud storage services, especially AWS S3
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools:
• GitHub Actions, Git, GitHub, Docker, Docker Compose, Nginx, uWSGI
• Strong understanding of software testing (unit & integration testing)
• Ability to write efficient and optimized SQL queries
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a remote team
• Experience with complex data catalog or open data platforms
• Experience with GIS or geospatial systems
