Role Overview


As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will be a key leader in the entire lifecycle of our strategic AI/ML initiatives, from visionary ideation and rigorous experimentation to secure deployment and impactful scaling across government entities. You will be instrumental in architecting and implementing sophisticated AI models, spanning both robust traditional methodologies and cutting-edge generative techniques, strategically leveraging the best of open-source and proprietary technologies. You will collaborate closely with Government Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), visionary AI product designers, a talented team of Data Scientists and Engineers, and innovative Software Engineers to build robust, scalable, secure, and impactful AI-powered products that directly benefit the citizens, residents and visitors of Abu Dhabi.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design and deploy advanced AI models and end-to-end pipelines for government applications, covering traditional ML (classification, regression, forecasting, recommendations) and Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models, GANs).
  • Handle sensitive datasets with robust preprocessing, feature engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation for optimal performance.
  • Utilize leading frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, and orchestration tools such as Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow, LangChain, and MCP.
  • Build scalable, secure AI pipelines compliant with government standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define problems, co-develop solutions, and integrate AI into existing ecosystems.
  • Ensure reproducibility, code quality, and ethical AI practices while documenting methodologies and results for stakeholders.


Skills And Experience


  1. Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field.
  2. Experience developing and deploying ML/GenAI models in production.
  3. Strong knowledge of ML algorithms and Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models, GANs).
  4. Proficient in Python and frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face.
  5. Skilled in building secure, scalable AI pipelines (Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow, LangChain, Docker, Kubernetes).
  6. Experience with large, sensitive datasets and Azure cloud.
  7. Proven AIOps implementation in production environments.
  8. Domain expertise in Abu Dhabi government and related sectors.
  9. Hands-on with distributed training and efficient inference for large-scale AI models.
  10. Open-source contributions or publications in AI/ML conferences/journals.
