LOCATION: Initial Placement – Paris Customer Service Office
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education related to political science, public administration, or public relations, or have the equivalent in demonstrated work experience.
- 2 years of experience working within a Clerk’s Department, or a municipal or provincial election
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of political acuity when interacting with constituents, candidates, elected officials, staff, local boards, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment, both independently and within a team.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Possess a general understanding of municipal government.
- Possess a general understanding municipal and school board elections.
- Possess a valid G Class license with an acceptable abstract and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Familiar with the Municipal Elections Act.
- Familiar with Education Act.
Under the supervision of the Director of Council Services/Clerk, the Elections Coordinator is responsible for supporting the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. The Election will be administered as an online election (Internet voting). The incumbent will:
- Act as a liaison between the elections team, vendor, and various internal and external stakeholders, and serve as the main point of contact for all matters pertaining to the Election.
- Develop internal procedures and policies to support the administration of the Election.
- Manage the Voters’ List and all updates made to it.
- Prepare key election materials for candidates, third party advertisers, and voters.
- Facilitate a Candidate Information Session, including preparations and presentation.
- Secure polling locations and assist with set-up and tear-down through advance voting and Election Day.
- Recruit, train, and oversee election workers, including the development of training materials.
- Manage election supplies and inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
