SkyWater has been retained by a nationally recognized, family-owned manufacturer and technology innovator is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its enterprise-wide technology strategy and digital transformation. With operations spanning multiple sites across North America, this organization combines precision engineering, advanced manufacturing, and proprietary software to deliver industry-leading building solutions.

The CTO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing enterprise IT, operational technology (OT), cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, and a growing proprietary software platform. This executive will shape the technology vision, modernize infrastructure, and drive innovation that fuels both operational excellence and commercial growth.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year technology roadmap supporting growth and scalability.
• Modernize IT infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, and enhance cloud architecture.
• Champion AI-enabled applications in design, estimating, and predictive maintenance.
• Lead software product strategy and integration across internal and external systems.
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional technology organization.
  
  

Desired Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred
• 20+ years of progressive technology leadership, including 5+ at the executive level.
• Background in manufacturing, construction, or industrial technology preferred.
• Proven success driving digital transformation across IT, OT, and product platforms.
• Hands-on experience with ERP modernization, AI/ML integration, and BIM/Revit/AutoCAD environments.
• Expertise in M&A due diligence and technology integration.
• Experience leading a commercial or SaaS software business a strong plus.
• Strategic, forward-thinking leader with the ability to translate vision into measurable impact.
• Must be local to Minnesota
