Overview:

Our client is seeking experienced Network Migration Specialists to support a nationwide network transformation initiative tied to CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) compliance. The project includes migrating approximately 20 U.S. sites into a new secure enclave aligned with U.S. Government cybersecurity requirements.

This is a technical, hands-on engineering role focused on network implementation — installing, configuring, and cutting over wired/wireless infrastructure — in close collaboration with network engineering and site operations teams. This is not a project management position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute network cutovers and migrations for manufacturing and office sites into a new CMMC-compliant environment.
  • Unbox, rack, cable, and power switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
  • Configure and validate Cisco equipment prior to shipment and during on-site deployment.
  • Perform physical patching between switches, patch panels, and edge devices.
  • Follow and update migration templates and site-specific runbooks for routing and connectivity changes.
  • Coordinate with site contacts and cabling vendors; handle patch cabling while overseeing third-party installations.
  • Adjust and verify Cisco CLI configurations (VLANs, routing, IP addressing).
  • Support testing, cutover execution, and troubleshooting during off-hours or migration weekends.
  • Document existing configurations, identify dependencies, and note remediation needs.
  • Assist with ongoing cleanup and configuration alignment across data centers and field sites.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs and configurations comply with CMMC security standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on Cisco routing and switching, including VLANs and BGP.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Meraki and firewall principles.
  • Proficiency with Cisco CLI and configuration file interpretation.
  • Familiarity with site-to-site VPNs, encryption, and network segmentation.
  • Experience with site migrations, hardware installations, and live cutovers.
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to travel and perform physical rack-level work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA or equivalent required; CCNP preferred.
  • Experience in U.S. Government or CMMC-related secure environments.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls, wireless systems, and multi-site WAN designs.

Additional Details:

  • Must be a U.S. person working on U.S. soil due to CMMC requirements.
  • Frequent domestic travel with company-paid expenses.
  • Flexible schedule with occasional evening/weekend cutovers.
  • Initial 6-month contract with potential extension.
