Full-timeRemote FriendlyInformation Technology

We’re looking for a strong Local, hands-on IT Systems Specialist to own day-to-day infrastructure and security operations. This is an individual-contributor role for someone who is technically solid, proactive, and comfortable with real production responsibility.

You will work across firewalls, networks, servers, virtualisation, core business applications, and end-user operations in a secure, fully on-prem environment.

We specifically need someone with exposure to top-of-the-line enterprise systems and environments — not just basic SMB setups. You’ll join at a time when we are building our internal IT capabilities.

Some technical operations are currently supported by external partners, and this role will help transition key functions in-house as the company grows.

Network & Security Operations

  • Administer and maintain our Fortinet environment (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiClient).
  • Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts, VPN activity, and unusual network behaviour.
  • Enforce access control, segmentation, and zero-trust principles across the network.
  • Support secure remote-access operations (VPN, ZTNA posture checks).

Infrastructure & Servers

  • Manage Windows Server infrastructure and core domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
  • Oversee Windows-based server and user environments, including file and print services.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of server hardware, OS, and application issues.

Virtualisation & Core Platforms

  • Support and maintain VMware ESXi and vCenter environments.
  • Ensure availability, performance, and basic capacity planning for virtual infrastructure.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and server lifecycle maintenance.

Identity, Messaging & Business Applications

  • Administer Active Directory, file servers, and on-prem email systems (Exchange or equivalent).
  • Support SAP at the infrastructure and user level (accounts, connectivity, troubleshooting).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot business applications, printing, and scanning systems.

End-User Support & Operations

  • Provide 2nd/3rd-line support for VPN, Wi-Fi, email, and general IT issues.
  • Own incidents from diagnosis through resolution and documentation.
  • Contribute to hardening, documentation, and continuous improvement of the IT environment.

DLP, Compliance & Data Protection

  • Assist in deployment and operation of on-prem DLP systems (FortiDLP, Forcepoint, Symantec, or similar).
  • Work with classification policies, USB control, endpoint data restrictions, and rule enforcement.
  • Support approval workflows, auditing, and incident analysis.
  • Ensure secure handling of R&D files, sensitive exports, and controlled information.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems, or network support.
  • Strong experience with Fortinet firewalls and security tools.
  • Solid proficiency in Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO).
  • Working experience with VMware ESXi/vCenter.
  • Familiarity with SAP support at the infrastructure level.
  • Hands-on familiarity with enterprise DLP technologies (FortiDLP, Forcepoint, Symantec, Digital Guardian, etc.).
  • Understanding of IT security policies and ISO-style standards (access control, data handling, device compliance).
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset; able to work independently in a secure environment.

Preferred Certifications

  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
  • Microsoft Server / Infrastructure certification (e.g., Administrator Associate).
  • Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE4 or above preferred).
