Role Overview
- Title: Senior Delivery Manager
- Level: Senior
- Team: Core Banking Tribe (~10 specialists: Developers, QA, System Analysts)
- Reports To: Head of Delivery Management
- Purpose: Establish and evolve delivery processes across the Tribe to ensure predictable, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Drive continuous improvement, foster ownership, collaboration, and accountability, and act as the primary bridge between teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- [R1] Establish and oversee end-to-end delivery processes inside the Tribe aligned with Paysera Engineering standards, ensuring delivery process efficiency and consistent team performance.
- [R2] Continuously review and optimize intake and delivery policies (e.g., pull criteria, CoS prioritization rules) to optimize flow, and maintain a predictable, stable delivery; proactively identify needs for change and automation opportunities.
- [R3] Communicate delivery process changes to Tribe members, ensuring rationale, objectives, and expected impacts are understood and gain buy-in.
- [R4] Build and maintain dashboards, other reporting mechanisms (Jira, Confluence, Google Sheets) to track team performance, delivery metrics, spot risks, and dependencies.
- [R5] Lead Kanban cadences (Delivery Planning, Service Delivery Review). Ensure established team cadences result in tangible outcomes (e.g refined PBIs, delivery commitments, etc).
- [R6] Lead and forecast delivery timelines for cross-Tribe initiatives using historical throughput and delivery trend analysis.
- [R7] Proactively manage escalations, blockers, and risks beyond Tribe control.
- [R8] Support Tribe growth through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- [R9] Act as the primary bridge between teams, stakeholders, and department leaders, ensuring timely, clear, and consistent communication while managing delivery expectations.
- [R10] Provide quarterly reports on Tribe delivery health to the Head of CC, incorporating delivery metrics (e.g., lead time, touch time, flow efficiency, arrival rate, delivery rate, discard rate), team performance data (throughput, morale, Tribe health), and SDLC process health, while highlighting key trends, risks, and identified opportunities for improvement.
- [Q1] 5+ years of proven experience in fintech managing distributed software engineering delivery teams (20+ people) in an Agile environment, including 2+ years as Delivery Manager or equivalent (Senior Scrum Master / Agile Project Manager). Verified via resume and references.
- [Q2] Hands-on understanding of SDLC processes, from discovery through delivery and maintenance.
- [Q3] Deep expertise in Agile frameworks and methodologies (Scrum / Kanban / Scaled Agile / Hybrid) and a proven track record of applying them effectively; Verified via interview.
- [Q4] Ability to design and tune Agile delivery processes that serves the right purpose and fits complex environment; Verified via interview.
- [Q5] Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with extensive experience in data-driven delivery, establishing, monitoring team performance, delivery, and taking actions based on delivery insights.
- [Q6] Leadership experience in people management. Knowing your team is essential to succeed.
- [Q7] Proficiency in Jira and Confluence (including JQL, custom dashboards, and reports).
- [Q8] Proficiency in Google Sheets (including pivot tables, charts).
- [Q9] Exceptional facilitation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex delivery data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- [Q10] Clear, confident English communication (B2+ written and spoken). Verified via interview.
- [Q11] Strong conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities and engineering standards.
- [N1] Skilled in leveraging AI tools for delivery automation and reporting, eagerness to promote AI-driven solutions that serve the company’s goals.
- [N2] Awareness of mobile-specific challenges (e.g., backward compatibility, release approvals, phased rollout) is a strong plus.
- [N3] Agile certifications (CSM / KSD / KSI / PSM II / PMP-ACP / ICP-ATF / SAFe).
- [N4] Background in software engineering, quality assurance, or solution architecture.
- [N5] Familiarity with CI/CD principles and DORA metrics.
- [W1] Employment type: Full-time, B2B contract.
- [W2] Location: Remote-first, with hybrid preference for Vilnius, Wroclaw, Sofia, or Ahmedabad.
