The role


We’re hiring an AI Architect & Engineer to lead how AI is implemented across Telgea — from customer service automation to backend processes and internal tooling.


You’ll define our AI strategy and own the architecture behind it. But this isn’t an ivory-tower role. You will also get hands-on with implementation and work alongside our developers to bring AI into our stack.


We’re not looking for someone who wants to “learn AI.” We’re looking for someone who has already done this and can show us the right way forward.


What you will do


  • Design Telgea’s AI strategy across automation, customer service, tooling, and product features
  • Architect the AI layer across our backend, infra, APIs, and internal workflows
  • Implement AI capabilities directly in our codebase (Node.js backend, Python services, GCP stack)
  • Build models, prompts, integrations, and pipelines using LLMs and vector databases
  • Work with engineering to embed AI into customer support flows.
  • Create internal AI agents to reduce manual operations across billing, onboarding, and telco processes
  • Define patterns for data governance, model evaluation, and safe deployment
  • Build prototypes fast, test them with real users, and guide the team toward scalable solutions
  • Ensure AI implementation complies with telecom-grade privacy, security, and reliability requirements


What you bring


  • Prior experience designing and implementing AI systems (LLMs, retrieval, automation, agents)
  • Ability to architect end-to-end solutions and also write clean, production-ready code
  • Experience integrating AI into real products — not just experimentation
  • Ability to guide developers, define patterns, and set standards for AI across the org
  • Experience working with Node.js and Python in production environments
  • Experience with GCP and modern AI tooling
  • A structured, ownership-driven way of working in early-stage environments
  • Comfortable balancing speed with reliability, cost, and data sensitivity
  • Bonus: experience in telecom, fintech, or other regulated environments

Location: Remote - the entire company is but we meet up 4 times a year in person.

Setup: Consultant

Compensation: $80k - $140k depending on qualifications
