Primrock is seeking an innovative and market-oriented Data scientist for the ongoing development of our services and optimization methods.
About the role
Primrock creates value through evidence-based, manual or automated, decision-making. We collect, analyze and use - real or simulated - data in everything from pricing to production. The Data scientist will contribute to our competitiveness and promote our commercial growth based on unique, novel and systematic use of our proprietary, structured and unstructured, data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pricing optimization models.
- Implement machine learning models and time series analysis for price forecasting.
- Analyze large datasets to identify market opportunities and structural changes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deploy pricing models in daily operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive pricing strategies, and market dynamics.
Tasks
Tasks for the Data scientist include: (1) Implement our Data Strategy for value-creation based on proprietary data, (2) Develop and implement methods to measure and to collect data from our markets, physical assets and other sources, (3) Contribute to our data management, including measures to maintain secrecy, (4) Analyze, improve and re-innovate our data-driven methods – i.e. algorithms – for pricing and production optimization and, finally, (5) Propose, test and introduce new concepts and methods for value-creation based on data in our pricing, service offering or our production processes.
Your profile
Education: You have a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics with excellent academic results from a top school.
Language: Professional proficiency in Swedish and English. CEFR Level C2 in both languages.
Skill set: Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling and Stata, R or equivalent software for econometric analysis. Experience with machine learning frameworks. Strong knowledge of panel data, time series analysis and causal inference. Familiarity with tools for data transfer and data manipulation. Familiarity with big data tools and cloud platforms is a plus. Knowledge of dynamic pricing algorithms and optimization techniques.
Analytical mindset: Strong understanding of market dynamics, price elasticity, and demand forecasting. Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies. Capability to present findings and influence decision-making.

About the job
The position is full time (100%) at our Ideon office in Lund. It is neither from home, nor hybrid. Primrock offers a competitive compensation package. The position will start in January 2026 (or February at the latest).
