Job Type: One-year Renewable Contract

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Android Developer with strong hands-on experience in building modern, scalable, and user-centric Android applications. The ideal candidate brings not only deep Android expertise but also a strong understanding of AI concepts and cloud technologies, enabling contribution to AI-driven use cases, automation, intelligent workflows, or cloud-integrated mobile solutions.

Candidate will work on end-to-end app development — from architecture and design to deployment and performance optimization — while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality, and innovative mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with UX, backend, cloud, and data/AI teams to build scalable, user-friendly, and future-ready mobile solutions.
• Apply strong AI understanding to support or integrate AI-driven use cases (workflow automation, cloud AI services, data intelligence, etc.).
• Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, WebSockets, and third-party SDKs with robust offline handling, caching, and error recovery.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability across a wide range of Android devices, including foldables.
• Implement secure coding practices, including OAuth2, MFA, AES/RSA encryption, certificate pinning, TLS/SSL, and OWASP Mobile compliance.
• Drive DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Fastlane, and automated testing frameworks.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and uphold clean architecture principles.
• Optimize app performance: memory, network usage, battery efficiency, and UI responsiveness.
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies: Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose advancements, cloud-native tools, and AI services.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5–6 years of solid Android development experience using Kotlin and Java.
• Proven experience delivering production-ready Android applications (Play Store or enterprise).
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, Material Design principles, and architectural best practices.
• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Git, CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, GitHub/GitLab.
• Good understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, enabling contributions to AI-related workflows or integrations.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML projects with hands-on experience in AI/ML development. Good exposure to GenAI and Agentic AI is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication, debugging, analytical, and mentoring skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skill Sets

• Languages & Tools: Kotlin, Java, Python, Android Studio, Gradle, Git, GitHub/GitLab.
• Android Frameworks: Jetpack Compose, View Model, Flow, LiveData, Room, DataStore, WorkManager, Hilt/Dagger.
• Architecture: MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, modular/multi-module project structures.
• Networking: Retrofit, OkHttp, GraphQL, WebSockets.
• AI & Cloud Competency:
• Strong understanding of AI concepts and ability to integrate or work with AI services when required.
• Exposure to AI platforms: Google Gemini API / AWS Bedrock / Vertex AI or similar cloud AI tools.
• Optional exposure to ML Kit or TensorFlow Lite for on-device intelligence.
• Analytics & Cloud Integration: Firebase Crashlytics, Performance, Analytics, FCM; AWS/GCP integration (Lambda, S3, Cloud Run, API Gateway).
• Testing & DevOps: JUnit, Espresso, Mockito; CI/CD (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Jenkins); SonarQube/static analysis.
• Security: Android Keystore, AES/RSA encryption, certificate pinning, OAuth2, TLS/SSL, OWASP Mobile Security.
• Nice to Have: Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, React Native, IoT, AR/VR, feature flagging, experimentation platforms.

Desirable Certifications

• AWS/Azure/Google AI Certifications
• Any other equivalent industry standard certification
