Product Manager

Location: Sydney CBD – In office 3 days per week

Package: Up to $180k base + $7k Bonus + Super

The Opportunity:

One of Australia’s fastest scaling fintechs seeks a data-driven Product Manager to take ownership of its next-gen lending products.

You’ll own the pre-cash-out journey for short-term cash flow and personal loan-style solutions, where every decision shows up in approvals, losses, and customer experience.

This is not a fluffy PM role. Reporting into the C suite lending lead, you’ll work in a lean squad with a fellow PM, designers and engineers, in the weeds every day. You’re the one who checks the stats, pulls the numbers, writes the requirements and says, “Here’s what changed, here’s why, and here’s what we do next.”

What you’ll do:

  • Own the end to end pre cash out journey across web and mobile
  • Monitor daily performance, investigate changes and identify root causes
  • Turn lending strategy into outcomes, KPIs and a focused backlog
  • Analyse activation, conversion, usage, default rates, credit risk and unit economics
  • Write and refine detailed requirements, user stories, rules and edge cases
  • Use dashboards and data tools to form hypotheses, size opportunities and prove impact
  • Partner with lending, risk, operations, marketing and analytics on business cases and priorities
  • Work closely with design and engineering in a modern, mobile-first stack
  • Ensure changes are safe, compliant and operationally sound
  • Keep lending safe, transparent and genuinely useful, not just more debt

What you bring:

  • Strong experience as a digital Product Manager owning web or app-based journeys
  • Experience in consumer lending, BNPL, on-demand pay, digital banking or other regulated credit products
  • Exposure to credit risk, decisioning engines, scorecards or collections strategies
  • You live in metrics and are comfortable pulling your own numbers, slicing data and using them to diagnose problems and decide what to do next.
  • Proven ability to write clear, detailed requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and to think through edge cases
  • Tech-native mindset, comfortable talking about APIs, rules engines, data flows and where things can break, even if you are not an engineer
  • Strong analytical and commercial thinking, able to connect customer behaviour, credit performance and unit economics
  • High curiosity and low ego, you like asking why, learning new domains and getting into the weeds rather than protecting your title.
  • Clear, direct communication style and confidence working closely with senior leaders in a small, fast-moving team
