The Principal Advisor, Information Privacy And RTI, Is Part Of The Corporate Services Division, Within The Governance, Performance And Risk (GPR) Team Which Works Closely With Internal Stakeholders, Central Agencies, External Statutory Authorities And Portfolio Partners To Deliver

  • corporate governance and policy assurance activities
  • strategic and operational planning, performance and reporting
  • internal audit and enterprise risk
  • information privacy and right to information management.


The Principal Advisor Role Includes

  • maintaining the department's information privacy and Right to Information (RTI) framework to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • providing authoritative and timely advice to departmental staff on information privacy and RTI matters
  • managing responses to data breaches and facilitating the department's referral and liaison with the Office of the Information Commissioner, where necessary
  • facilitating Right to Information requests
  • contributing to the maintenance and delivery of the department's corporate governance and legislation compliance frameworks
  • preparing comprehensive and high-quality information privacy and general corporate artefacts
  • coordinating compliance projects and activities - such as risk management and information privacy
  • leading engagement in corporate training and awareness activities to support compliance with legislative, governance and risk management and information privacy and RTI obligations
  • preparing high-quality professional reports, submissions, briefing notes
  • actively contributing to an innovative team that values continuous improvement, and a collaborative culture focused on achievement of objectives.
