Primary location: On-site in Belgium, with remote work possible for tasks not requiring on-site presence

Overview
A major EU-level programme is expanding its capabilities in the field of generative AI and is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect (Junior level) to support the secure design, development and operation of AI-driven platforms and services. This role contributes to a large-scale initiative implementing safe, trustworthy, and high-impact AI technologies across multiple institutional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support programme teams on all aspects of cybersecurity architecture and design.
- Develop and maintain an overarching cybersecurity architectural view and registry of security artefacts.
- Prepare cybersecurity documentation including risk assessments, compliance attestations, and IT security plans.
- Assess security risks and controls related to generative AI and emerging technologies.
- Monitor vendor and contractor activities to ensure security compliance.
- Implement and maintain consistent security controls across a complex application landscape.
- Provide cybersecurity guidance to projects leveraging corporate AI solutions.
Required Education
Minimum education level aligned with EQF Level 5 (typically two years of post-secondary education) for Junior roles.
Required Skills & Expertise
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity requirements within large institutional environments.
- Expertise in threat modelling and risk management methodologies.
- Ability to keep up with rapidly evolving cybersecurity threats, particularly in generative AI.
- Ability to shape high-level cybersecurity vision and direction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent ability to draft clear, structured technical cybersecurity documentation.
- Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Capable of delivering technical and business presentations and participating in cybersecurity governance meetings.
Non-Technical Skills
- Ability to work in international, multilingual and multicultural environments.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication skills (C1 level).
