We are looking for you
At Clevry, we are looking for an R&D Security Engineer for our client. This is a full-time, 12 month fixed-term position, and you will be hired for the role through Clevry. The work focuses on strengthening and developing the security of R&D platforms, tools, and environments. The start date is flexible, and the role offers the possibility to work in a hybrid model depending on the client’s policies.
In this position, you will play a key role in designing, improving, and protecting the technical backbone that supports product development and internal tools. You will work hands-on with firewalls, networks, servers, endpoints, and vulnerability management — ensuring that the R&D environment remains secure, stable, and compliant. You’ll join a team of skilled professionals and have the opportunity to directly influence the company’s security posture by building reliable, modern, and well-documented security solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced security engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating across teams, and working in an environment where security is an integral part of product development.
Main responsibilities
- Setting up, maintaining, and improving security controls to keep R&D platforms safe and reliable
- Managing and developing firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortigate, Palo Alto Prisma Cloud)
- Ensuring secure network operations, including switches, routing, segmentation, and connectivity
- Leading vulnerability management: scanning, identifying issues, coordinating remediation
- Supporting endpoint security in R&D environments
- Assisting with security compliance and audit preparations
- Investigating, analyzing, and resolving security incidents
- Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to implement secure-by-design principles
- Maintaining clear and up-to-date technical documentation
- Staying informed about emerging threats and recommending practical security improvements
What we expect from you:
- 8–10 years of experience in security engineering, with skills in vulnerability management, endpoint security, and compliance requirements.
- Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Fortigate firewalls, plus solid understanding of network architectures, segmentation, and IPS systems.
- Strong Linux skills, experience with VMware/OpenStack, and ideally some Ansible or scripting/automation capabilities.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, clear communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, CISSP, OSCP) are considered an advantage.
What we offer
- A meaningful and impactful role in strengthening and modernizing the client’s R&D security environment
- The opportunity to work with modern firewalls, cloud tools, and infrastructure technologies
- A skilled, collaborative, and supportive team environment
- A hybrid working model and flexible working hours (according to client policy)
- A chance to develop your expertise in security automation, cloud security, and secure infrastructure design
