Company Description
PARIS MEDIA is an independent game company based in the UK. Our upcoming title, Outlaw's Vengeance, is a third-person action video game focused on stealth and parkour. We are a small indie team of ambitious individuals, and we are looking for a creative team player who shares our values of innovation, grit, and creative problem-solving.
About the Project:
Our project is an immersive indie stealth action-adventure game set in an alternate historical universe. It features rich narrative depth, intricate stealth mechanics, and fluid parkour-inspired traversal. As a Level Designer, you will play a key role in crafting memorable locations and missions that highlight strategic gameplay choices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and create detailed level layouts, dense city environments, and mission structures.
- Produce effective level blockouts, placing and refining assets for optimal gameplay flow.
- Collaborate closely with the art team to ensure visual coherence, environmental storytelling, and thematic alignment.
- Handle mission scripting and gameplay element placement to support stealth and parkour mechanics.
- Regularly iterate on level designs based on feedback from internal playtesting sessions.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of professional experience as a Level Designer.
- Educational background in Game Design, Level Design, Architecture, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in designing levels specifically for stealth and parkour-oriented gameplay.
- Strong understanding of pacing, player flow, and environmental storytelling techniques.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working effectively in remote team environments.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5
Nice-to-Have:
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine tools such as Blueprints, level streaming, and procedural generation.
- Previous experience working on shipped titles, especially those released on platforms like Steam.
Compensation:
$4,000 USD/pcm
Employment Details:
Position Type: Full-time remote contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9-5 (remote)
Compensation: $4,000 per month
