GCP Platform (SRE/DevOps) Engineer – Onsite 4 days Dublin City

Our client is a market leader in Financial Services/Trading powered by technology and has engaged IT Search to speak to Engineers with GCP experience to join their Dublin based Infrastructure team on a permanent basis. This team manages global issues around servers, virtualisation and various enterprise level processes supporting the key business.

The role is to be a key part of the team working on developing and deploying (and maintaining) various solutions and will require experience at a high level in GCP and Kubernetes to work on their High Performance Computing engineering and optimisation through Linux.

Responsibilities:

• Working with internal Production teams to understand and address ongoing scalability and reliability processes and issues when they occur
• Specifically focusing on Observability and Monitoring, taking care to identify and address potential roadblocks
• Hands on coding when required (Python ideally) to an application rather than scripting level
• Mentoring more junior team members with an eye for documentation and planning

Requirements:

• 8/10 years of commercial experience in a large scale cloud environment as a senior SRE or DevOps Engineer
• Experience (and ideally certifications) in GCP
• Good level of Python knowledge, ability to see a problem, fix a problem
• Exposure to HPC concepts
• Depth in Kubernetes specifically
• Available for regular (monthly) on call rotation as part of the team
• Exceptional communication skills, comfortable dealing across geographical locations and cultures
