Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Engineer who will work as part of customers team providing Network Infrastructure support across the client estate.
Role will be onsite support mainly, so will require travel.
Primary position is to review & guide new service requirements, project delivery, configuration changes & upgrades. Engagement with Aruba TAC to manage any complex technical queries.
The tasks will include (but not limited to):
- Close contact with the customer to ensure the project deliverables
- Manages communication with customer on complex technical problems
- Develops and follows up network and security architecture projects and solutions
- Ensuring SLA requirements and Customer Satisfaction metrics are on or above target
- Provision of network device configuration either via iMC or local to device to supplied requirements
- Risk ownership and Escalation
- Adhering to strict policies and processes around security and data protection
- Ensuring the escalation process is followed and any issues are communicated appropriately to internal and customer management teams
- Driving HPE value-add service enhancements through innovation and process improvement
- Troubleshooting hardware and firmware issues on all networking infrastructure
Required skills and attributes
- Aruba / HPE - Comware & iMC Orchestrator. minimum 4 years experience
- Good knowledge of BGP eVPN environments
- Data centre network design & deployment experience
- Display enthusiasm, knowledge, and understanding of LAN technologies.
- Proven extensive networking background
- Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to simplify technical detail
- Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced, structured manner to meet tight deadlines
- Confident, collaborative working style and able to interface with people of all levels
- Proactive approach to work activities & support of colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to recognise and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership
