About Us
We’re a venture-backed startup on a mission to make cloud usage smarter, cheaper, and greener. Our product analyses cloud infrastructure and application code to reduce emissions and optimise cost and performance. We're already working with leading organisations in Europe and the Middle East and are scaling rapidly.
We are now looking for a Backend Engineer who lives and breathes Python and wants to work on high-impact, distributed systems used by large enterprises.
What You’ll Do
* Design, build, and scale cloud-native microservices in Python and Node.js
* Work with a variety of data stores: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and more
* Write performant async APIs and robust background jobs (e.g., Celery, RabbitMQ)
* Integrate with external APIs (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, etc.)
* Help shape our internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience
* Own code quality, from automated testing (pytest, tox, mypy) to monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)

What We’re Looking For
* 4+ years of experience writing Python backend services
* Strong understanding of distributed systems
* Experience building and deploying containerised services and applications
* Comfort working with cloud APIs, IaC tools, and modern DevOps workflows
* A proactive, independent, and product-focused mindset
Nice to Have
* Experience with carbon-aware computing, GreenOps, or FinOps
* Contributions to open-source projects
* Familiarity with GraphQL and event-driven systems
