Your job
As a Java Backend Developer, you play a key role in realising ABN AMRO's strategy of being a personal bank in a digital age. You are responsible for developing, maintaining and transforming our payment system landscape. You work in a DevOps team responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance of software to automate and support business processes. You make sure crucial bank processes can be executed efficiently, securely and are sustainable.

You will be part of the Core Transactions department, which is at the heart of the innovation and growth strategy of our Personal & Business Banking business line. About the team:
The SEPA backoffice team is the heart of the bank, every day responsible for processing millions of transactions. Many of these transactions are fully processed within seconds, requiring the utmost stability and perfection from both the applications and the team working on them. Not a single payment is allowed to get lost, meaning excellent error-handling is paramount.The main responsibility of our Java backend applications is routing these transactions between our payment engine and the outside world, while validating all information is as expected. Team works with on-premise and public cloud to make this happen.
- In our team you are working in a vibrant and continuously changing landscape. Decommissioning old technologies, exploring new technologies, all alongside a never ending list of new functionality to be build.
- In our team, you won’t just be writing code. We are looking for someone willing to grow towards playing a leading role in designing and maintaining the heart of payment processing within ABN AMRO.
- 5+ years of IT experience with working scrum/agile/DevOps knowledge
- Extensive experience on Java 17 (or higher versions)
- Experience on testing framework (Junit, JMeter, etc)
- Experience with modern frameworks like Spring and public cloud services like Azure DevOps, and Azure resources
- Good to have knowledge on Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS skills
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
- Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
- An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
