Network Administrator (Cisco)
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and Cisco-certified Network Administrator to join a leading Swiss organisation. In this pivotal technical role, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimising, and enhancing the organisation's end-to-end network infrastructure across multiple sites.


You will work with complex, high-availability environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable network connectivity. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong expertise in Cisco technologies and a proactive approach to performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and network security.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and optimise Cisco-based network solutions (routers, switches, wireless controllers, etc.)

  • Monitor the network proactively using Cisco monitoring tools and ensure high availability

  • Handle incidents, analyse root causes, and provide advanced troubleshooting

  • Ensure compliance with security standards and organisational policies

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation (configurations, diagrams, procedures, reports)

  • Contribute to network upgrade projects: hardware refresh, IOS upgrades, and integration of new Cisco technologies


Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Network Engineering

  • Active Cisco CCNA certification (must-have)

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in network administration or engineering within a Cisco-focused environment

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, VLANs, subnetting, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switching (Catalyst, Meraki)

  • Experience with Cisco wireless environments (WLC, Access Points)

  • Proficiency with Cisco monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Catalyst Center)

  • Understanding of 802.1X Network Access Control
