VASS is actively looking for a Platform Engineer (API) to work for our client EIB, in Luxembourg.
The tasks/activities will include:
‐ Maintenance of Azure API Management platform in a hybrid cloud environment composed of the on-prem Data Centre, and EIBG Landing Zones in AWS and Azure.
This includes (1) an internal decentralized Azure APIM with self-hosted gateways (in AWS EKS and on-prem Tanzu), and (2) an external, centralized Azure APIM with Web Application Firewall.
‐ Integration of API Management platform with Azure AD as the identity provider for application registration and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
‐ Automation tooling for application teams for easy deployment of APIs, and RBAC management.
‐ Migration of application teams to the Azure API Management platform.
-Monitor API gateway performance, scalability, and availability, and optimize configurations as needed.
-Manage the entire lifecycle of APIs from creation to retirement, including versioning, deprecation, and sunsetting.
-Coordinate with development teams to onboard new APIs onto the API management platform and ensure proper governance and compliance.
-Perform regular reviews and audits of APIs to ensure adherence to organizational standards and policies.
-Implement security measures to safeguard APIs and sensitive data, such as encryption, tokenization, and threat protection.
-Monitor API traffic, usage patterns, and performance metrics to identify potential issues and optimize API performance.
-Set up monitoring alerts and dashboards to track key API metrics, such as latency, error rates, and throughput.
-Analyze API usage data to gain insights into user behavior, trends, and business opportunities.
The service provider’s personnel must demonstrate knowledge in:
-Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
-API Management
-Azure DevOps, Azure AD
-Terraform and Kubernetes
The service provider’s personnel must demonstrate competence in:
-Working with Azure API Management Platform.
-Working with ECS.
-Working with landing zones in AWS and Azure.
-Deploying and managing Kubernetes-based applications
-Setting up authentication, RBAC and security tokens based on Azure AD (EntraID).
-Setting up and operating CI/CD pipelines for the deployment of artifacts.
-Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, GraphQL, and other API protocols.
-Familiarity with web services technologies such as XML, JSON, and WSDL.
-Understanding of security protocols and standards such as OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, and API keys.
-Analysis and design of automation tooling.
-Supporting application teams.
