Job Description: Network Administrator (L2 Level, 5-10 Years of Experience)
Role Overview
The Network Administrator at Level 2 is responsible for managing and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires 5-10 years of experience in network administration, with expertise in routing, switching, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Operations and Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain network devices, including Cisco and Juniper switches and routers.
- Perform routine network monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure high availability.
- Configure and manage routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Routing and Switching:
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Switches (45XX, 3750/6500/Nexus) and Routers (ASR 1000 Series, 72xx/2600/2800, 3800 series).
- Manage Juniper switches and routers (EX Series, QFX Series, PTX Series, MX Series).
- Implement switching protocols such as STP, RSTP, PVST, and port channeling.
- Network Security:
- Configure and troubleshoot HSRP, NAT, GLBP, and IP SLA for network redundancy and security.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and standards.
- Performance Optimization:
- Monitor network performance using tools like Wireshark, Network Observer, Netflow Analyzer, and MRTG.
- Optimize network configurations to meet business requirements.
- Disaster Recovery and Redundancy:
- Implement disaster recovery solutions and ensure network redundancy.
- Conduct regular tests to validate backup and recovery processes.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Provide regular reports on network health and performance metrics.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with Level 1 support teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Cisco and Juniper network devices and protocols.
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and switching technologies (STP, RSTP, PVST).
- Experience with network security configurations (HSRP, NAT, GLBP, IP SLA).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Soft Skills:
