Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Switzerland

Our client is an emerging leader in AI-powered Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

As the company prepares for a Series A raise next year, they are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join the leadership team.

As CTO, you will own the end-to-end technical strategy and execution. You’ll lead and scale a talented team of developers, evolve a robust, compliant technical foundation, and play a key role in setting the company’s long-term strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and execute the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with product, clinical, and commercial objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of developers, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.
  • Oversee architecture, infrastructure, and delivery of the AI SaMD platform, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Partner closely with the CEO, product leadership, and clinical advisors to guide long-term vision and strategy.
  • Drive the evolution from FDA-cleared MVP to a fully scalable, secure, and automated platform.
  • Establish best-in-class engineering practices across ML, data pipelines, DevOps, and QA.
  • Support fundraising efforts leading into Series A through technical diligence, roadmap articulation, and team planning.
  • Ensure robust documentation, audit readiness, and compliance with medical device software standards.

About You

  • Proven experience leading software and engineering technical teams, within medical device software.
  • Strong background in machine learning, computer vision, imaging, or complex system architecture.
  • Experience guiding products through the full lifecycle - from MVP to scalable commercial release.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and inspire high-performing engineering teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for solving high-stakes, real-world problems in healthcare.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where you balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across clinical, product, and commercial domains.
