Stan is an industry-leading streaming service used by millions of customers throughout Australia across some of the world's leading global consumer electronics brands including Samsung, LG, Sony and Microsoft.

As a Senior Front End Developer working within the Stan TV team you will be developing new and exciting experiences across a wide variety of platforms using modern technologies including React/Typescript/NodeJS/Webpack and Google’s Shaka Player on a fixed term basis.

Reporting to the TV Development Lead, our successful candidate will have experience working across a wide variety of projects and be performance-focused with an eye for detail and a preference for simplicity

Key Responsibilities

• Work across a wide variety of TV platforms including LG WebOS, Samsung TizenOS, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox and Amazon FireOS.
• Actively research new techniques and technologies to use on the Stan TV platform
• Coach and provide technical mentoring to other developers within the team
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional agile team
• Contribute to internal development standards & practices
• Have a mind-set that is willing to embrace new technologies and ways of doing things including curiosity about the usage of JavaScript beyond web browsers

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Expert at building web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience using TypeScript and React across a variety of projects
• Some experience with using other JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Backbone or Ember
• Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing tools like Jest or Playwright
• Experience with version control (GIT) beyond the basics
• Experience with continuous integration (CI)
• Understanding of RESTful services
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Experience with delivering (and optimising) advanced web and mobile applications at scale
• Sound understanding of technologies used beyond the browser i.e. Go, NodeJS, Python or webpack
