💰 Salary: $100K–$170K + super

📍 Location: Brisbane CBD | Hybrid (1 day WFH; preferred office days Mon & Fri; flexible 2–3 days in office)

What You’ll Do

• Develop & fine-tune ML models (NLP, computer vision, generative AI)
• Adapt foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere) for targeted use cases
• Build data pipelines & manage model experiments, tracking, and deployment
• Integrate ML into applications via REST APIs & collaborate with developers
• Operate in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and use ML tooling (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, MLflow, LangChain)
• Work in agile, cross-functional teams & contribute to AI/ML innovation

What We’re Looking For

You’re a creative problem solver who thrives on applying AI to real-world challenges. Curious, hands-on, and passionate about building tools that bridge data, design, and human experience.

Core Technical Skills

• 3+ years ML engineering or applied ML experience
• Strong Python & ML libraries (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Integrating ML models into applications & workflows
• Vector search & embedding systems (FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate)
• REST API deployment (FastAPI, Flask)
• Handling structured & unstructured data (text, images, spatial)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Development & Collaboration

• Build & maintain ML pipelines from prototype to production
• Experiment tracking & version control (MLflow, Git, Weights & Biases)
• Strong communication for technical & non-technical audiences
• Collaborative, proactive, interdisciplinary team player

Mindset & Domain Interest

• Research-oriented & motivated to apply AI in impactful ways
• Interest in the built environment, urban design, or civic infrastructure
• Background in architecture, engineering, or design technology is a plus

Preferred (Not Required)

• LLM orchestration (LangChain, Haystack), RAG, prompt tuning, hybrid search
• MLOps workflows (Airflow, Argo), model governance
• AI ethics, data privacy, explainability
• Building internal AI tooling/interfaces for non-technical users
