AI Enablement Engineer - Internal Systems & Operations
AI Enablement is the bridge between technology and day‑to‑day business operations. This function ensures staff can confidently apply AI in their work, while IT provides the infrastructure and Security ensures compliance and protection. The AI Enablement Engineer focuses on building intelligent internal systems, automating workflows, and upskilling teams so that AI becomes a trusted, everyday tool across the organisation.
This is a hands‑on engineering role with a strong operational focus. The ideal candidate will combine technical depth in programming and automation with a strategic mindset for embedding AI into business processes. They will be passionate about improving organisational efficiency, enabling staff adoption, and ensuring AI solutions align with IT and Security standards.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to embed AI into internal workflows and staff processes
- Balance quick operational improvements with long‑term enablement strategy
- Design and implement cost‑effective internal AI solutions
- Build APIs and integrations to connect internal systems and tools
- Partner with IT and Security to ensure compliance and operational resilience
- Develop automation frameworks and infrastructure‑as‑code for repeatable deployments
- Create and maintain internal AI tools that improve staff productivity
- Deliver training, documentation, and enablement programs to upskill teams in AI usage
- Track and communicate adoption metrics and operational impact to leadership
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment across departments and functions
Desirable Skills
- Experience integrating with LLMs and agentic workflows for operational use cases
- Knowledge of RAG frameworks to improve AI model outputs
- Proficiency in designing MCPs for collaborative AI systems
- Experience hosting AI models as internal services
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments
- Experience with AWS Bedrock and deploying AI‑enabled applications
- Systems thinking: ability to design solutions that improve overall organisational efficiency
