About this opportunity:

Currently we are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Software Engineer with focus on Erlang to build reliable and concurrent systems that power real-time telecom services in Ericsson’s 5G Packet Core Controller component.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is excited to learn functional programming in large-scale telecommunication software products.

What you will do:

  • Work in a Scrum team with senior engineers to develop high-quality software using Erlang
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of new features
  • Collaborate in an Agile cross-functional team

The skills you bring:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong eagerness to learn Erlang and work in large telecommunication systems
  • Analytical thinking and ability to solve algorithmic problems
  • Curious, proactive and collaborative mindset
  • Familiarity with software development tools (e.g. Git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
  • At least B2 level in English, written and spoken

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of any functional language (Erlang, Elixir, Haskell)
  • Understanding of IP networking concepts and packet analysis (e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Familiarity with 4G/5G mobile network architecture (protocols, functions, etc.)

We work in a hybrid model - 3 days from the office weekly.
