PHP Developer
Location: Hybrid – Bury, Greater Manchester (BL9 7JR)

Salary: Competitive – Based on experience
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day shifts (No weekends), Flexible working hours (core hours: 9:30 am – 2:00 pm)
About the Role
Crown Oil is seeking a PHP Developer to join our growing in-house development team. You’ll play a vital role in building and maintaining innovative web applications that support our business operations and customer services. Working with modern tools like Laravel, React, MySQL, and nginx, you’ll contribute to key projects that have real impact.
We offer a hybrid working environment (after an initial settling-in period) and the opportunity to collaborate with a friendly and skilled technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP, Laravel, and React
- Collaborate with teams to define technical requirements and improve architecture
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Debug and resolve performance and functionality issues
- Design and optimise MySQL database schemas
- Participate in code reviews and follow best coding practices
- Stay updated with emerging web technologies and development trends
Required Experience
- 2+ years of PHP development experience
- 2+ years with Laravel
- 2+ years with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
- 1+ year with React
- Experience with MySQL database design
- Familiarity with nginx configuration and performance optimisation
- Proficient with Git version control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred (Not Essential)
- Experience with REST APIs
- Familiarity with Docker or containerized environments
- Understanding of agile development practices
