Our Company:

Social Pinpoint is a market-leading digital community engagement platform that operates in an exciting and rapidly growing sector.

We provide government clients and consultants throughout Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe with the online tools they need to help their communities (people like you) have their say on projects that impact them.

We're seeking a highly motivated and passionate Product Designer to craft innovative user experiences and features that explore new horizons of community engagement and stakeholder management for our Social Pinpoint and Consultation Manager platforms.

To be considered for this role, you must be based in Vancouver and eligible to work in Canada on a full-time permanent basis. We strongly encourage all applicants to submit a portfolio of their work, along with their resume and cover letter when applying for this position.

The Role:

As a Product Designer on our team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the Product Design Lead, Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders, to translate user needs and business goals into innovative and delightful design solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product managers to understand product vision, prioritise design work, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Design and develop user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high fidelity mock-ups using industry tools to effectively communicate interaction and design solutions.
  • Lead and conduct UX research activities, including stakeholder interviews, usability testing, feature testing, competitive analysis, and workshops. Define research goals, choose methods, synthesise insights, and present findings to guide product decisions.
  • Work closely with development teams, attending stand-ups and meetings to provide feedback or resolve design issues blocking project delivery for the teams.
  • Collaborate closely with peer designers and actively participate in design critiques to give constructive feedback, improve team processes, and identify opportunities to elevate our design practice.
  • Maintain and evolve design systems, including components, patterns, and documentation, to ensure consistency and quality across products.
  • Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies, applying new ideas to improve processes and outputs.

Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years digital product design experience, with at least 1+ years leading UX projects.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and clear UX thinking, including examples of your process and design decisions.
  • Strong UX research capability: able to plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research, turn insights into actionable design recommendations, and measure the impact of research-driven decisions while championing user needs.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts and solutions clearly and persuasively to cross-functional teams and key stakeholders for feedback and approval.
  • Experience designing for accessibility, including compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
  • Proficiency in Figma, with a solid understanding of component-driven design. Familiarity and experience with design systems tools such as ZeroHeight and Storybook.

We look for these Personal Qualities:

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Successful outcomes are never achieved alone. You need to work well with others and be accountable for your work. We also expect you to communicate often, be honest and take initiative when appropriate. You will be working openly using modern collaborative platforms.
  • Passion for Learning: You need to love what you do. We expect you to always be motivated, challenge yourself and continuously learn without having to push you into it. This will include learning things outside your area of expertise and making others around you better.
  • Talent and Courage: We aim to produce great outcomes. When solving problems, we expect creativity and a focus on the end user. We want you to have tough conversations if things are not right and the courage to ask when you don’t know.

Our Benefits:

  • Flexible hybrid work arrangement
  • Company-sponsored health insurance
  • Generous Paid Parental Leave
  • One-off Home Office Allowance
  • Annual Health & Wellness Allowance
  • Annual Professional Development Allowance
  • Paid Birthday Leave
