Position: Scrum master
Location: Calgary - 2 days on site mandatory (either Tuesday or Wednesday)

Rate: 45-60/hr
Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Scrum Master to join a large insurance client on a 6‑month contract as a backfill for a team member moving internally. This role will anchor in office two days per week (one must be Tuesday or Wednesday) and will lead a cross‑functional team of 10–12 developers, BSAs, QAs, product owners, and business SMEs. The Scrum Master will guide the team through the pre‑inception phase, helping identify priorities for execution in 2026, while managing upgrades, enhancements, and integrations surrounding the Guidewire PolicyCenter platform. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include facilitating Scrum ceremonies, running daily stand‑ups, managing 4‑week sprints, and supporting planning sessions and workshops with clear outcomes and priorities. The Scrum Master will also demo products to the business, estimate epics and stories, and collaborate across teams to resolve issues quickly. This position requires a proactive leader who can hit the ground running, foster collaboration, and ensure delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Project Manager
- Proven ability to execute projects across the full SDLC
- Experience managing upgrades and enhancements for off‑the‑shelf applications (Guidewire preferred)
- Insurance industry experience with ability to speak the business language
- Hands‑on expertise with Jira and Confluence
- Proficiency with MS Project and Excel for planning and reporting
- Highly organized, collaborative, and self‑sufficient, with strong problem‑solving skills
