107,400 - 131,200

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About The Role

We are seeking a Scrum Master to join our Data Management Team. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating agile process, helping our team stay focused, efficient and continuously improving. You will work closely with product owners, developers and other stakeholders to ensure that Sprint goals are met, and that Agile principles and scrum practices are followed to deliver high quality products.

You will also foster an environment of collaboration, transparency and continuous learning, enabling our teams to meet business objectives while promoting Agile methodologies. Additionally, you will be working with squads that have many external dependencies. Requiring you to manage coordination, communication, and delivery across different teams, systems, and organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Scrum events: Guide and facilitate daily stand ups, Sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and Sprint reviews.
  • Coach agile practices: Mentor and coach the development team on Agile principles and Scrum practices. Help foster a culture of self organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage external dependencies: Work closely with teams and external stakeholders to identify, track and manage dependencies that affect the squads work. Ensure that external teams and vendors are aligned with Sprint goals and timelines.
  • Remove impediments: Identify and remove obstacles that may impede the teams progress. Work with internal and external stakeholders. To resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Team support: Create an environment of psychological safety where team members feel comfortable raising issues, asking questions, and contributing to discussions.
  • Collaboration with Product Owner: Support the Product Owner and managing the Product Backlog, ensuring user stories are well defined and prioritized according to the business value.
  • Progress Tracking: Help track and report on the teams progress using agile metrics. Ensure Sprint goals are achieved and communicate any deviations to stakeholders.
  • Escalation management act as a point of escalation for issues or delays caused by external dependencies. Working proactively to resolve challenges before they impact delivery timelines.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master. At least 4-5 years of experience as a scrum master or an agile coaching role within a software development environment. Have experience leading multiple squads.
  • Strong knowledge of agile / scrum methodology: A deep understanding about your principles come ceremonies rules.
  • Experience with external dependencies: Demonstrated experience managing teams that rely on external partners, systems, vendors. Comfortable coordinating across various stakeholders to keep progress on track
  • Facilitation skills: Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage teams, Dr. discussions and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Personal skills: Verbal and written communication. Collaborating across cross functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management: Experience working with both. Ensuring alignment on goals and progress.

Nice To Have

  • Working knowledge, or exposure to data security practices, and data privacy regulations, Data Governance, Data Catalog.
  • Security mindset. Ability to help teams incorporate security considerations into agile processes and product development.
    • Experience and knowledge in the insurance field would be preferred
