Our client is a renowned Data Centre developer, seeking for an Assistant Project Manager in MEP to join their growing technical team. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure quality, compliance, timeline adherence, and engineering integrity across both MEP domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project managers in both mechanical and electrical scopes during design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Review and approve consultant design submissions, drawings, and engineering calculations for HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, fire safety, ELV/BMS, HVAC/CRAC, and other building services.
- Coordinate between consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure deliverables meet project requirements and standards.
- Monitor on-site construction works, oversee installation quality, safety compliance, and adherence to design intent.
- Assist with procurement, tender review, vendor liaison, sub-contractor management, and materials tracking.
- Participate in testing and commissioning of MEP systems, validate performance, and support system turnover.
- Maintain project documentation: drawings, change orders, RFIs, progress reports, QA/QC records, as-built drawings, and handover packages.
- Support project cost control, scheduling, risk management and regular project status reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and industry codes/practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- Design experience in Data Centre / substation or other critical facilities is a MUST
- Working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, chillers, power distribution, fire safety, BMS/ELV, backup systems, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and design documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills to liaise with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Comfortable with on-site work including site inspections, safety compliance, and physical site conditions.
