AI Scrum Master / Agile Coach Sr (Mid-Career)

About the Role
Lockheed Martin’s Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) is looking for an experienced AI Scrum Master / Agile Coach to support multiple AI product teams within the AI Foundations portfolio. You’ll work closely with full stack developers, data engineers, machine learning specialists, product managers, data scientists, and other agility mentors to guide teams, improve delivery, and drive successful execution of AI initiatives.
This role combines agile coaching, systems-level thinking, and AI/analytics exposure. You will help teams improve processes, strengthen communication, manage scope, and stay aligned to business outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and maintain systems to track and visualize team scope and progress.
- Identify risks to milestones and propose mitigation approaches.
- Explore integrations between new tools, systems, and data sources.
- Build and communicate a systems-level understanding of customer needs.
- Facilitate team ceremonies and optimize team rhythms.
- Promote customer empathy and help teams stay aligned with stakeholder expectations.
- Coach teams on agile philosophies, culture, and continuous improvement.
- Use team metrics effectively to support decision-making.
- Recognize when leadership intervention is required and escalate appropriately.
- Provide advocacy and support to protect team mental load and scope.
- Distinguish between cultural and process issues and support resolution.
- Collaborate with other agility coaches and scrum masters across LAIC.
Who You Are
- Experienced with agile delivery, systems engineering, and AI/analytics environments.
- Strong communicator with high customer empathy.
- Able to facilitate and improve team ceremonies and coach stakeholders.
- Comfortable using team metrics and communicating progress clearly.
- Passionate about agile philosophies and capable of teaching them effectively.
- Skilled at collaborating with peers to leverage shared knowledge and practices.
Basic Qualifications
- Certification in Scrum Mastery, Product Ownership, or Agile Coaching.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain trade-offs between competing software or process options.
- Ability to learn and explain complex concepts and high-level strategy.
- Experience defining program objectives and presenting to senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across multiple locations.
Desired Skills
- General understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
- Experience leading small technical teams.
- Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, JIRA, VersionOne, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge of technologies in AI, simulation, data fusion, PHM, big data, and analytics.
Additional Information
- Clearance Level: None.
- Remote Work: Fully remote; occasional travel for meetings.
- Schedule: 4x10 hour days with three days off per week.
- Relocation: Possible.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges vary by location:
- Major metro areas in CA, MA, NY: 111,700 to 193,660 USD
- Other listed states including CO, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, VT, WA, DC: 97,100 to 171,235 USD
- Final salary depends on experience, skills, location, and business factors.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
- This position is incentive-plan eligible.
