1. Role Objective JOB CONTENT

Providing legal advice and guidance to the Management of the Organization in order to ensure the organization’s practices, policies and procedures are in compliance with the laws, rules and regulations of the Sultanate of Oman.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

Operational:

1. Assist in identifying legal and regulatory risks and ensure that sufficient controls are in place to mitigate such risks.

2. Support in ensuring sufficient systems, procedures, and guidelines are in place to ensure the compliance with laws and regulations.

3. Monitor developments in legislative and regulatory environment, examine the impact of such developments on the organization and ensure that the management is well informed of such development.

4. Provide sound and timely legal support to the Management.

5. Draft, review contracts, policies, forms and procedures for the Organization.

6. Represent or arrange to represent the company in any legal proceeding that brought by or against the organization.

7. Draft and review legal documents, letters, agreements, undertakings, legal opinions and notices which are referred to the legal department to ensure that the company's interests are fully protected.

8. Act as the secretary and/or Legal advisor for the company’s Ordinary and Extra-ordinary General Meetings.

9. Liaise with the authorities (the Secretariat of the Commercial Register) in respect of convening shareholders’ meetings and approval of minutes thereof.

10. Educating colleagues and instilling in them the importance of compliance for the proper corporate governance at management level.

11. Co-ordinating the preparation of periodic reports to the Board of Directors, the Regulator and other Government agencies.

12. Liaising with Company’s external and internal auditors and ensuring adequate coverage of the Company’s operations.

13. Perform any other task as assigned by the direct manager.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

– Bachelor degree in Law, preferably with a business qualification

Experience:

– 3 years of relevant experience.

Special Skills & Knowledge:

– Having up-to date knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements and best practice standards.

– Excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills in both Arabic and English with an eye for detail Negotiation skills.

– Strong understanding of Oman Labour laws and other government law.

– Strong understanding of Company Labour laws

– Proficiency in MS Suite
