Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of full stack engineers (mobile + backend), fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions across mobile and backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
• Champion engineering best practices, including clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations, stakeholders) to translate business needs into impactful technical solutions.
• Promote creativity and innovation, encouraging engineers to challenge the status quo while delivering high-impact features for the CommSec platform.

Qualifications

• Mobile Development Expertise: iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, Combine, XCTest) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Espresso), modular architecture (MVVM/MVI).
• Backend Development Skills: .NET Core (C#), Java, microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, SQL & NoSQL databases.
• Cloud & DevOps: Strong experience with AWS (preferred), Azure/GCP, Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Octopus, Jenkins).
• SRE & Observability: Proficiency in Grafana, Prometheus, SLIs/SLOs, logging, monitoring, incident response, runbooks, and performance tuning.
• AI-Assisted Development & Collaboration: Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Figma AI; strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and problem-solving.
