Shark Ninja is expanding our APAC business and scaling it rapidly. Our two brands, Shark, and Ninja, have enjoyed unprecedented growth in the past 5 years, driven mainly by the very strong innovation pipeline on both brands. Given this success in our existing markets, Shark Ninja has embarked on a bold plan for growing APAC business, in which ANZ plays a critical role.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our team. This role will be based in Sydney.

Position Overview

The Associate Product Manager is a key member of the Product Management team, aiding in the creation and implementation of product strategies. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve product goals and address market needs. Responsibilities include managing new product development projects, serving as a subject matter expert on the relevant product category, and supporting Product Managers in maintaining accurate and up-to-date product information.

Here are some of the EXCITING things you will get to do:

Category & Portfolio Management

  • End-to-end leadership of the strategic development, assortment (NPD/ core) and execution of key categories, as directed.
  • Managing the relevant brand product assortment in ANZ, including range optimisation across both NPD and core, channel management, configurations, colour options, pricing, and features & benefits.
  • Deep understanding and interpretation of market and consumer data, and ability to identify the ‘so what’ to inform decision making
  • Maintain a clear understanding of in-market business goals by contributing information for reviews, including pricing analysis, market summaries, category summaries, and product plans.
  • Build strong knowledge base of distributors and channels by working with sales & marketing to devise best strategies to support channels through right product and analysing success of product lines.
  • Assist in understanding the global strategy and business goals and help apply and align those strategies to an in-market product strategy.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure product, portfolio and sales strategies are aligned.

New Product Development

  • Project manage the New Product Development process for successful product launch ensuring all relevant functions in their market are aligned.
  • Work closely with PMO, Product Development, and Program Coordinator’s at global headquarters to ensure new products are on cost, on time, and with the right features & benefits for the ANZ consumer and market.
  • Provide NPD calendars, readiness scorecards, performance tracking & reporting.
  • Utilise market and consumer data to identify areas of opportunity and challenge that may inform new tactical SKU opportunities.
  • Be involved and embedded in consumer insights and research studies to inform product assortment and product needs.
  • Within global guidance, develop all on-box and in-box collateral.
  • Support in presentation of new product to internal and external stakeholders.

Competitor Understanding

  • Build a strong understanding of the competitive landscape for the product category across all relevant brands in the portfolio by: - Gaining knowledge of competitors' strategies, strengths, and weaknesses via competitive landscape development
  • Developing a strong product and technical knowledge related to the product category
  • Providing regular updates to key stakeholders on competitor activities and market changes
  • Reviewing and analysing relevant market data

Managing Relationships

  • Builds strong and constructive relationships with the team and across Business Units.
  • Works collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders including Commercial, Marcomm, Operations to create and manage cross- organisational integrated information and content strategies.
  • Communicates and makes decisions with relevant stakeholders in a consultative manner.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in product management, brand management, marketing coordinator.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business or similar field is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical/ home appliances, FMCG or consumer goods is preferred.
  • Strong communication, influencing, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, finding the so-what in the data.
  • Curiosity and a can-do-attitude
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with strong multitasking skills

Occasional travel may be required.
