Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior UX/UI Designer to support a complex workflow-building project focused on finance and back-office operational processes. The successful candidate will combine strong user-experience design capability with the technical fluency required to prototype, mock-up, and guide the implementation of intuitive user journeys.

This role requires someone who can understand finance processes (AP, AR, bank reconciliation, back-office workflows) into clear, elegant, user-centred designs while working alongside engineering teams to validate feasibility and shape the end-to-end experience.

Contract Summary

  • Start Date: ASAP or early January
  • Rate: Based on experience
  • Contract Length: Up to 6 months, with potential extension
  • Work Model: Hybrid – expected in office Tuesday and Thursday (2–3 days per week)
  • Location: Sydney (flexible for the right candidate)

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX/UI design for complex financial workflows and back-office finance processes.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity mock-ups.
  • Translate abstract business objectives into clear user journeys and logical workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to validate technical feasibility.
  • Support problem-solving and ideation around workflow optimisation, AI-enhanced processes, and improved user experience.
  • Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies and contribute to iterative design improvements.
  • Provide UX/UI guidance, best practices, and design standards for the broader team.
  • Conduct user-led refinements and support implementation handover.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Senior UX/UI Designer or Consultant in complex environments.
  • Strong background designing workflows, business processes, or enterprise systems.
  • Ability to produce high-quality design artefacts, mock-ups, and prototypes.
  • Technical fluency — comfortable working with engineering teams and understanding implementation considerations.
  • Experience with finance or back-office domains (AR, reconciliation, transaction workflows) highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of AI-enhanced user experiences or adaptive workflows beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
