Seepia is building the future of playable experiences. As part of our evolution into a product-first studio, we’re hiring an Engineering Lead to guide the technical direction, AI adoption, and development culture of our Playables team.

This role sits at the intersection of technology, product thinking, and production excellence. You will lead a talented group of developers, shape our internal frameworks, and champion the shift toward smarter, faster, AI-assisted workflows. You’ll balance day-to-day production needs with long-term product development, ensuring that our playables are performant, scalable, and future-ready.

If you’re a hands-on engineering leader who loves building teams, simplifying complexity, and turning emerging AI capabilities into real-world productivity and product advantages, this is a defining opportunity.

What You’ll Do

1. People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of developers.
  • Hold regular 1:1s and support professional growth, performance, and well-being.
  • Set clear expectations and establish strong feedback loops.
  • Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Playables BU Lead, Operations Manager, and HR on hiring, onboarding, and resourcing decisions.

2. Technical Direction

  • Shape our technical architecture (with the support from our tech leads), frameworks, and standards for playable ad development.
  • Set coding best practices and maintain the balance between speed and long-term maintainability.
  • Guide the team in optimization, performance, and technical problem-solving.
  • Oversee the design and evolution of internal reusable frameworks and automation tools.
  • Align development with creative workflows to ensure smooth integration between art, design, and code.

3. Production Management

  • Collaborate closely with Art and Design Leads to maintain efficient workflows and consistent visual quality.
  • Identify operational blockers and propose clear solutions.
  • Coordinate with Operations on timelines, capacity planning, and project priorities.
  • Participate hands-on in production, leading up to three concurrent projects as needed.

4. Product Development & Technical Roadmap

  • Together with the Playables BU Lead and product development team, define and maintain the Playables product roadmap.
  • Translate business and client needs into clear technical priorities.
  • Prioritize initiatives that improve scalability, efficiency, or product quality and support company OKRs.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and risks transparently across the leadership group.

5. AI Exploration & Adoption

  • Champion the exploration, testing, and adoption of AI in playable development.
  • Identify opportunities where AI improves efficiency, quality, or creative iteration.
  • Pilot AI tools and workflows, measure their impact, and document best practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure AI efforts align with business goals and OKRs.
  • Coach and support developers in using AI responsibly and effectively while maintaining high technical standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building and leading engineering teams, ideally in games, interactive media, or creative tech.
  • Hands-on technical expertise in gameplay, UI, or interactive experience development (HTML5/TypeScript/Unity is a plus).
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate production needs with long-term architectural decisions.
  • Experience working with or piloting AI-assisted tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide structure, clarity, and calm in a fast-moving environment.
  • A collaborative leader who loves building teams and raising the bar for quality and efficiency.

Why Join Seepia

  • Product-first environment with AI-native workflows.
  • A talented, ambitious team that values craft, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
  • A remote-friendly, globally diverse team.
