Tech Lead - AI Engineer

We are partnering with a fast-growing global technology company that supports small businesses across Europe. While historically focused on B2B services, the company has expanded into digital content, branding, and AI-powered platforms, helping clients optimize their online presence and customer experiences.

Role

As Lead AI Engineer, you will take ownership of a specific business problem or platform component within the AI team. You will act as the technical lead, guiding the development of solutions, mentoring engineers, and shaping the architecture of AI systems that improve customer experience and internal workflows. You will work closely with other engineers to enhance existing AI platforms, including generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on assigned projects, making architectural and design decisions
• Develop and maintain AI/ML models and systems to enhance customer-facing platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Implement best practices in software engineering, code quality, and AI development
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
• Contribute to the design and evolution of AI systems, including generative AI and RAG workflows
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of AI solutions

What we’re looking for

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong experience in Python and AI/ML engineering
• Solid software engineering skills, with experience building scalable AI platforms
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Understanding of GenAI, model context protocols, or similar AI frameworks
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or AI-focused engineering roles
• Ability to lead technical solutions independently and mentor team members
• Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking in AI platform development
