Your role
Join our Solution Team to build secure, scalable data platforms and integrations for mission-critical Defence use cases. You will design and operate data flows that connect operational systems with analytics and AI, enabling fast, reliable decisions.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and run robust batch and streaming data pipelines across cloud and on‑prem environments
- Develop integrations and APIs: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and event‑driven solutions
- Implement authentication and federated identity: OIDC, OAuth, SAML, Kerberos
- Engineer for security by default: certificate management, secrets handling, and end‑to‑end encryption
- Shape platform architecture: reverse proxy patterns, load balancing, VMs, and Kubernetes-based deployments
- Model and optimize datasets in SQL Server, PostgreSQL (or similar), and data lakes
- Develop ETL/ELT with Apache Spark and Databricks (or equivalent)
- Enable BI & Analytics with Qlik, partnering with analysts and domain experts
- Support AI use cases (LLM, object detection, text analytics) with reliable data foundations
- Apply CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices for high-quality, repeatable delivery
- Monitor, observe, and continuously improve data services for performance, cost, and resilience
- Collaborate closely with product, platform, security, and stakeholder teams to deliver clear outcomes
We are seeking a motivated individual who is outcome-oriented, collaborative, product-minded and autonomous. You are motivated and committed to build dependable solutions in the Defence domain.
We believe you have:
- 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer (or similar), delivering production data solutions
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Security mindset: certificate management and end to end encryption
- Datastores: SQL Server, PostgreSQL (or similar), and data lakes
- ETL/ELT: Apache Spark, Databricks (or equivalent)
- Cloud: Azure, AWS, or GCP (experience with services like Databricks, BigQuery is preferred)
- Strong integration background: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML; event driven architectures
- Experienced with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps environments
- JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell
- Hands on with identity and access: OIDC, OAuth, SAML, Kerberos
- Platform skills: reverse proxies, load balancing, VMs, and Kubernetes
- AI awareness: familiarity with LLMs, object detection, and text analytics
