Scrum Master
Primary Purpose
The Scrum Master ensures agile frameworks, methods, and techniques are understood and enacted across teams and the organization. This role promotes adherence to the Agile Manifesto and its principles, serving as a servant leader, facilitator, trainer, coach, and mentor. Responsibilities include fostering high-performing cross-functional teams, supporting modern product development practices, and driving continuous improvement. The Scrum Master may also act as a Team Coach or Enterprise Coach as needed.
Essential Functions
- Ensure agile frameworks and techniques are understood and applied.
- Promote Agile values and principles across teams and the organization.
- Facilitate, train, coach, and mentor employees, teams, and stakeholders.
- Support modern product development practices and continuous improvement.
- Measure progress using learning milestones.
- Uphold Scrum values: focus, courage, openness, commitment, and respect.
- Support elements of a learning organization: personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Product and IT experience.
- 2+ years as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Coach.
- 1+ years applying multiple agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, LeSS).
- 1+ years on large-scale, multi-team Scrum projects.
- Scrum Master Certification.
- Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
- Excellent English communication, facilitation, and resolution skills.
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- U.S. Citizenship strongly preferred (may be required per DoD contract).
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Experience in curriculum development, DevOps practices, and scaling Scrum.
- Healthcare experience.
- Familiarity with Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and industry communities.
