DevOps Architect – Qatar (Onshore)

Role Summary

Responsible for defining and leading the end-to-end DevOps strategy, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and modernisation of mission-critical on-prem and hybrid applications.

Must Have

Core Responsibilities

• Define DevOps architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Design & implement CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins) for Java, .NET, front-end, GIS, DB systems, and integrations.
• Lead modernization of legacy systems into microservices & containerized workloads.
• Design deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, rolling).
• Implement IaC with Terraform / Ansible.
• Ensure DevSecOps, DR readiness, monitoring, logging, and configuration management.

Technical Skills

• CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
• Git strategies: GitFlow, trunk-based.
• Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift (on-prem or hybrid).
• Terraform, Ansible.
• Linux, scripting, automation.
• Logging/Monitoring: ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, APM tools.
• Networking fundamentals.

Experience & Soft Skills

• 8+ years in DevOps; 3–4 years in architect/lead role.
• Experience across multi-datacenter + DR environments.
• Strong documentation, collaboration, communication.

Should Have

• Define environment strategy & naming conventions.
• Implement automated quality gates.
• Work with security teams for DevSecOps alignment.
• Improve CI/CD speed & reliability.
• Review runbooks & DR playbooks.

Could Have (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to cloud (Azure/AWS).
• GitOps (Argo CD, Flux).
• SRE practices.
• Experience with secrets mgmt tools (Vault, KMS) & OPA.
