Head of Payment

Position Overview

The role is designed for a seasoned professional to oversee the Payments function. The ideal candidate will combine deep functional and technical expertise in payment systems with practical experience in managing application vulnerabilities. A thorough understanding of RTGS, SWIFT, and various domestic and international payment methods is essential, along with proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage payment systems operations end-to-end, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Provide expert guidance on RTGS, SWIFT, ACH, wire transfers, and other payment channels.
• Oversee the integration, maintenance, and enhancement of payment applications in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure effective application security by monitoring vulnerabilities and coordinating remediation with security teams.
• Drive SDLC processes, ensuring adherence to quality, governance, and security standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies on payment-related projects and audits.
• Monitor system performance, manage incidents, and proactively plan for risk and capacity needs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or financial services with a focus on payments.
• Strong functional and technical knowledge of RTGS, SWIFT, and other payment systems.
• Proven experience in application security and vulnerability management.
• Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and related tools.
• Leadership and team management experience with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit processes is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile or DevOps methodologies is preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• SWIFT Certification (e.g., SWIFT Certified Expert) – Demonstrates proficiency in SWIFT messaging and operations.
• Banking Operations Certification
