Bermuda Commercial Bank (BCB) is in the middle of a major technology and infrastructure transformation, and we’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer who wants to be at the heart of it.

Based in the UK, you’ll be the senior technical lead for BCB’s network infrastructure, with a clear mandate: keep the bank’s network fast, secure and reliable every single day, while evolving it to meet tomorrow’s demands.

This is a role for someone who is as comfortable deep in the weeds of routing, firewalls and incident response as they are leading discussions on network design, cloud connectivity and resilience.

You will:

• Own and operate our enterprise network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and wireless across production environments.
• Administer and optimise Azure networking (Virtual Networks, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall) in a hybrid setup.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot complex issues across cloud, putting proactive measures in place to prevent incidents before they happen.
• Lead network security operations: firewall rule management, VPN administration, access control policies, and support for security incident response.
• Ensure robust, secure connectivity for Office 365 and Microsoft cloud services.
• Plan and execute maintenance, configuration changes, patches and upgrades with minimal disruption to the business.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the application and network support team, setting standards and building capability.
• Drive capacity planning, performance tuning and architecture reviews to support growth in our hybrid Azure environment.
• Create and maintain clear documentation: diagrams, configurations, procedures and security standards.
• Partner closely with wider IT and business stakeholders to support projects and continuously improve how the bank operates.
• Stay current on network, cloud and security best practices, bringing fresh thinking into the Bank.

You’re likely currently a Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect working in a complex enterprise environment and ready for a role where your decisions really matter.

We’re looking for:

• 8+ years in network engineering/architecture, including 3+ years in a senior role leading network infrastructure projects.
• 3+ years’ experience with cloud networking in Azure (or very similar, with the appetite to go deep on Azure fast).
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing & switching. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs and core network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Expertise with enterprise networking platforms (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto Networks or similar).
• Solid grounding in network security. Firewalls, VPNs, zero-trust concepts, access controls and security best practices.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP or equivalent; CCIE / JNCIE is a strong plus.
• A pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset, you care about uptime, security, documentation and doing things properly.
