We are seeking an experienced ETCS System Engineer to support strategic railway signaling projects, including the implementation of the European Train Control System (ETCS). The role involves defining principles, ensuring compliance with European standards, and supporting project teams in delivering safe, reliable, and interoperable signaling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define ETCS implementation principles in line with European guidelines.
- Ensure application and compliance with ETCS standards across signaling projects.
- Maintain system consistency and support the ETCS system lead.
- Identify and update operational, functional, and safety requirements for ETCS.
- Translate requirements into implementation specifications for the Belgian railway network.
- Assist project managers in analyzing anomalies during ETCS deployment and propose improvements.
- Conduct detailed studies and associated tests for new ETCS functionalities or implementation principles.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering (electromechanics, electricity, electronics, or automation).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in signaling or ETCS systems.
- Proven knowledge of railway signaling principles and ETCS standards (TSI/Subsets).
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey clear messages to teams.
- Ability to learn and master complex topics autonomously.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in ETCS system principles and European standards.
- Familiarity with signaling systems and interoperability requirements.
Languages
- French: Very good proficiency (spoken and written).
- English: Good proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
